For a fun and unique rural experience, stop at The Duck Stop. Begin your experience by snacking on some peanuts and black pepper grown on the farm and meeting the family that run it. Cassava and rice are also grown here. Head over and feed the ducks and let them thank you by giving you a duck massage. Make your wish-upon-a-duck by throwing your lucky duck, a playful pastime of the local Vietnamese children.
After ducking around, get changed into some swimwear (or clothing you don’t mind getting wet or dirty) and head over to the nearby river to cool off with Donald Trump, the water buffalo, affectionately known as Big Don. Sit on Donald Trump and allow him to take you on a ride through the water. Get a refreshing hose-down and enjoy a soft drink and a small bite to eat freshly prepared by the mother of the family; a local dish of Vietnamese pancake (banh xeo) wrapped in rice paper and homemade peanut sauce. All of this is included for just $5, and it will no doubt be one of the highlights of your trip.
